Program Summary:

In its efforts to improve healthcare in Sierra Leone, Faith Healing Development Organization (F.H.D.O.) has established clinics in the Rokel community on the outskirts of the capital city of Freetown as well as in the provinces of Bo, Kenema, and Bunumbu. In agriculture, F.H.D.O. provides funding for the implementation of a small-scale women’s cooperative food security program, which includes the planting and harvesting of staple vegetables and grains benefiting women and their children. The program was created to increase food production and food security and to increase self-sufficiency. F.H.D.O is also making an enormous contribution to the education sector in Sierra Leone. Its technical/vocational institute has provided skills to disadvantaged youth and operates three pre-schools and three primary schools.

With the help of Bread and Water for Africa®, F.H.D.O. is working to bring about sustainable growth and development for so many people in Sierra Leone through the provision of healthcare facilities, agriculture, schools, and vocational and technical institutions.  During the past ten years, Bread and Water for Africa® and F.H.D.O. have been making a positive difference in the lives of countless numbers of people in Sierra Leone.
