zambia-health-careAn impressive project of Bread and Water for Africa®, given the relatively small initial investment, has been the mobile health clinic run by the Kabwata Orphanage and Transit Centre in Zambia since 2002. The staff and volunteers at Kabwata have truly shown how a commitment to the welfare of their local communities, a knack for resourcefulness, and  unflagging perseverance can change lives!

The New Kabwata Clinic is Scheduled to Open in September 2011

An impressive project of Bread and Water for Africa®, given the small investment, has been the mobile health clinic run by the Kabwata Orphnage and Transit Centre in Zambia since 2002.

In 2007, the Centre began construction of a permanent clinic structure which includes several treatment rooms and small living quarters for visitors. The clinic is scheduled to open by September 2011, which should allow for the expansion of Kabwata’s recent advances.

Even better, with the government providing the clinic with doctors and other medical staff as part of its new efforts to improve health care countrywide, the clinic will reach sustainable operation very soon. The new clinic will hugely benefit local residents, some of whom currently have to walk up to 38 km if they wish to receive medical care and treatment. Thank you for your generous support to help advance the state of health care in Zambia.
