Local Program Director: Phyllis Keino, RN, Founder/Executive Director
Location: Eldoret, Kenya
Mission: To establish a children’s home with quality standards fostered in a family environment that provides the children with nurturing support, inculcating in them the ability to work and think independently.
The Lewa Children’s Home was founded by Bread and Water for Africa® international spokesperson Phyllis Keino who more than three decades ago began taking in orphaned and abandoned children in western central Kenya. Phyllis could not turn any child who showed up at her doorstep away, and with support from Bread and Water for Africa® today she has become the “mother” of hundreds of children who have matured into successful adults.
