Back on His Feet: How Timely Care Helped James Provide for His Family

Thursday, February 5, 2026

James Senesie, a dedicated 40-year-old construction laborer from Mowoto Village, works tirelessly to provide for his loving wife and three children every day. While lifting heavy blocks at a construction site, he encountered a painful setback—severe muscle spasms that left him struggling to move. “The pain was intense, and my heart sank at the thought of not being able to support my family,” shared Joseph Kobba, the Program Director at RYDO-SL.

Facing transportation challenges and limited resources, James relied on his supportive brother to walk with him for three miles to the Bongor Health Center. There, Nurse Edith Smith welcomed him with compassion, performing a comprehensive assessment and administering Methocarbamol, a muscle relaxant provided through the generous assistance of RYDO-SL in collaboration with Bread and Water for Africa® and MAP International. She also offered invaluable advice on proper rest, safe lifting techniques, and how to ease back into work.

“I was devastated and feared I might never work again,” James admitted. “But the nurse’s care and the medication rekindled my hope and strength.” Thanks to her expert care, James quickly regained mobility and returned to his job, ready to care for his family once more. “I am incredibly thankful to RYDO-SL and their partners for supporting working men like me. Their help means everything,” he expressed with gratitude.
