Bread and Water for Africa® Thanks Combined Federal Campaign Donors for Sponsoring Spring Protection Project in Uganda

On behalf of hundreds of residents of the small villages of Lukaaka and Mawonvu in central Uganda, we at Bread and Water for Africa® want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the federal employees who supported our spring protection program through their Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) contributions.

Mary Musubika, administrator for our partner there which operates the spring protection program, Bega Kwa Bega (Shoulder to Shoulder), recently reported that the project, which provides safe, clean water for more than 60 households, a primary school with 150 students, and health center and a church, has recently been completed.

“Before protection, it was an open water source contaminated with refuse from runoff rainwater,” Mary reported. “It was so risky for all users — especially the children. They now have access to a free, clean, safe and reliable water source which minimizes waterborne illnesses, hence improving hygiene and sanitation.”
