She holds a piece of land and her livelihood is based on crop production. Two of her children, a boy and a girl, go to a local elementary school. A project team has recently visited Adde Elfnesh in her locality. She lives in a dilapidated hut, which is partly occupied by her new heifer. A few months after the delivery of the heifer, a first generation calf was born to the family. When asked how she feels about her new livestock, Adde thoughtfully responded, "Thanks to the Almighty, thanks to our supporters, my children are going to have milk like many fortunate children. People in the neighborhood are going to respect us, we have now something on which we can trade with others."
